Pipelines
Score: 5/10Streaming ingestion into R2. Early, but heading the right way.
Last updated
Pipelines takes event streams over HTTP or from Workers and writes them to R2 as queryable tables. Combined with R2 Data Catalog and R2 SQL, it starts to resemble an analytics stack without Kafka, an ETL cluster, or egress fees.
Moving events into a warehouse is expensive and operationally tedious. Turning that work into managed configuration on storage you already use is an appealing goal.
It is still early. Schema evolution is rough, transformations are limited, and throughput guarantees and back-pressure behavior need more production use. R2 SQL is also young. The current product is a 5, but one worth revisiting regularly.
